Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking a private yacht charter across Phuket and the Andaman Sea. Still unsure? We reply to every enquiry personally.

How do I book a private charter with Blue Andaman Exclusive?

Start by sending us an enquiry with your preferred dates, group size and the kind of experience you have in mind. We will suggest suitable yachts and itineraries, confirm availability and share a tailored quote. Once you are happy, a deposit secures your date and we take care of the rest, from route planning to catering. We are a licensed operator, Thailand Tourism License 32/01028, so you book with confidence.

How much does a private yacht charter cost?

Prices are always indicative and vary by yacht, season and itinerary. As a guide, private day charters on a crewed catamaran often start from around USD 1,500 (roughly THB 50,000), while larger motor yachts range higher, into several thousand dollars per day. Multi-day voyages are priced per day plus running costs. The main drivers are yacht size, age and specification, guest numbers, distance covered and the time of year.

What is included in the charter price?

A private charter includes your yacht for exclusive use, a professional captain and crew, fuel for the planned route, soft drinks and drinking water, and use of onboard water toys such as snorkelling gear, kayaks or paddleboards where fitted. Most day charters also include a freshly prepared lunch and light refreshments. Every yacht is different, so your quote sets out exactly what is provided for your chosen vessel.

What is not included in the price?

National park entrance fees are usually charged separately, as they are set by the authorities and change from time to time. Alcohol is generally not included, though we are happy to stock your preferences in advance. Crew gratuities are at your discretion, always appreciated but never expected. Depending on the itinerary, extras such as premium dining, additional fuel for longer routes or special activities may be quoted on top.

How many guests can join a charter?

It depends on the yacht. Smaller sailing yachts and catamarans suit intimate groups of up to eight or ten, while larger motor yachts comfortably host bigger parties for day cruising. For overnight voyages the limit is lower, set by the number of cabins and berths. Tell us your group size and we will match you with a yacht that feels spacious rather than crowded, whether it is a couple or a family celebration.

Are your charters suitable for families and children?

Very much so. A private charter is one of the most relaxed ways to enjoy the Andaman Sea with children. The crew keep a close eye on safety, calm bays make gentle swimming and snorkelling easy, and the pace is entirely yours. We can provide life jackets in children's sizes, plan shorter crossings and tailor the menu for younger palates. Let us know their ages and we will shape the day around them.

When is the best time of year to sail?

The Andaman Sea has two broad seasons. The high season, roughly November to April, brings calm, clear water and settled weather, ideal for island hopping and snorkelling. The green season, around May to October, is quieter and lusher, with warm seas and occasional passing rain, still very enjoyable on the right route. We watch conditions closely and will always recommend sheltered itineraries when the weather calls for it.

Will I get seasick on board?

Most guests are perfectly comfortable, especially in the sheltered waters and calm bays around Phuket where we spend much of the day. Larger motor yachts and catamarans are notably stable, which helps a great deal. If you are prone to motion sickness, take a remedy before boarding, stay hydrated and keep your eyes on the horizon. Tell your captain and they will choose calmer routes and gentle anchorages to keep you at ease.

Can you cater for dietary requirements and allergies?

Yes. Dining is a highlight of any charter, and our crews prepare fresh Thai and international dishes on board. We happily accommodate vegetarian, vegan, halal, gluten-free and allergy-specific needs, along with children's meals. The more notice you give, the more we can tailor, from a relaxed seafood lunch to a celebration menu. Share your preferences and any allergies when you book and we will confirm the menu with you in advance.

Where can we go in a day, and what needs an overnight?

In a single day you can reach many of Phuket's signature spots, such as the Phi Phi islands, the Racha islands, Coral Island and the quieter bays of Phang Nga. To venture further, the Similan and Surin islands or a leisurely cruise through the limestone karsts of Phang Nga Bay reward an overnight or multi-day voyage. Tell us how long you have and we will design a route that never feels rushed.

What should I bring on the day?

Pack light and bring the essentials for a day on the water: swimwear, a towel, reef-safe sun cream, sunglasses, a hat and a light cover-up for the sun. Bare feet or soft-soled shoes are best on deck. A waterproof pouch for your phone is handy, and a light layer is welcome on the way home. We provide towels on board where noted, along with snorkelling gear. Anything special, just ask.

What are your deposit and cancellation terms?

A deposit confirms your booking and secures the yacht for your dates, with the balance due before departure. Exact deposit amounts and cancellation windows vary by yacht and season, so they are set out clearly in your quote and confirmation. Weather is the one factor beyond anyone's control, so if the captain deems it unsafe to sail we will always work with you to reschedule or find a fair solution.

How quickly will you respond to my enquiry?

Quickly. We aim to reply to every enquiry within a few hours, and almost always the same day, wherever you are in the world. For last-minute or same-week dates, message us directly and we will do our very best to accommodate you. When you get in touch, share your dates, group size and any special occasion, and we will come back with tailored options and a clear quote.
